Evan and Carrots

Evan had his first experience with baby food on Sunday night. I gave him carrots first, both the girls had carrots as their first meal too. It took several bites before he was sure he liked them. Once he started sucking on his tongue I knew they were a hit. Either he is a much neater eater than Sara or Liza were or I am a much neater feeder (from experience of course). I remember Sara having carrots everywhere. He is so cute and sweet. Sara desperately wanted to feed him. I am sure she will have lots of opportunities in the future to do so but the first feeding is reserved for Mommy. Liza had no interest whatsoever. By the end of the jar he was trying to suck the carrots off his bib. Hungry baby. Thanks to Daddy for documenting this milestone. Evan is just a few days short of 6 months, but has a tooth already, much earlier than either of the girls. He is also almost outgrown his 6-9 month size clothes, he's a big boy. I'm working with him now on building his core muscles so he can sit up on his own. Isn't he a handsome boy?

Who has time to blog?

Apparently I do for just a few minutes tonight - but usually I don't. Let's see, where to begin. Evan, I am so in love with Evan. I told Steven it truly is possible to love two men at the same time. :) Just in a different way. And with Evan I'll eventually want him out of the house :)

Evan is getting so big so fast. He's 2 1/2 months and he's huge! He is solidly in 3-6 month clothes size but not for long. He's really been using his legs lately to push and move. He is still rolling over from his belly to back. He loves his mobile and loves for people to talk to him. He smiles more than Sara or Liza did at this age. He sleeps from 8pm to 7:30 am everything! ANGEL! He's only peed on me once but has peed on his face a couple times already.

Sara, she's hard right now. She challenges me, is tempermental, bossy, dramatic (about everything), a know it all, too smart for her age but all is redeemed in that she is my little evangelist. She has a wonderful heart for God and Jesus and openly confesses his place in her life. Very cool. She's also beautiful and cheerful and ALL girl. Love it! Love that I have a lifetime of girly bonding ahead of me.

Liza is so cute right now. Everything out of her mouth is precious. She has a wonderful imagination, she is equally as smart as Sara. She loves to sing, she has the most amazing laugh/giggle. She loves to please. She is amazing playing all by herself. Right now she wants to be right next to me everytime I'm in the kitchen watching and helping me cook. I love that. She is easily more friendly intially than Sara. She REFUSES to be potty trained right now. She drinks more liquid in a day than the rest of the family put together. She is like her Daddy in that she loves all things sweet and choclately. She has a special style of her own.

Okay, that's an update on the kiddos. Such blessings!

We love Fall!

Birthday plans

Sara is non-stop talk about her birthday coming up December 6th. She'll be 5. Tonight she tells me when I put her to bed: "Mom, I think you need to get me more than one present. I think you need to get me a present, Daddy needs to get me a present and Liza needs to get me a present and you can buy one for Evan to give me too." She's no fool. But so not going to happen. Maybe two gifts, one from Mommy and Daddy and one from Liza and Evan. :)

No kidding...

Liza tried to pick MY nose this weekend. Seriously. See older posts. I think she has a problem.

My handsome boys.

Picnic in the playhouse

At the request of Sara we had a picnic in the playhouse on Monday. It was a beautiful day outside, a little windy but otherwise perfect. This was the first time the girls had an apple without me first peeling it and cutting it up. Liza has had one everyday since then and if she seems me eating one, she takes it. And of course Evan couldn't miss the picnic so he joined us, but he apparently thought it was a snooze because he slept the whole time. Liza thought it was cool to throw food over the side.
